These Hat stands are in effect recomposed tree like forms.  These trees are built with sycamore off cuts that are felled during the work of London based tree Surgeons.  Once these logs and branches are dry, the bark is then stripped, ready for Dr Frankenstein’s tree surgery to begin.    New branch shoots are then added, carved and sculpted in to mimic the true divisions of a branch. To allow the branches to be modular they then have to then be re cut above the division and  re-joint with hardwood dowels and pins to lock them into place.
