BRONZE BARK

In this series of lamps the bark is left on the branch and acts as the key textural element from which to fossilise in metal. The branches must be sourced from a tree surgeon to ensure the wood is fresh and free from decay, allowing the bark to shrink in tune with its branch, creating a hard and durable structure to work from. The bark is then coated in multiple fine layers of epoxy resin and bronze powders in a specialist technique to ensure the detail of the bark is extenuated and not lost whilst ensuring a tactile quality to the finish.
